Gansai Industries (Japanese: ガンサイ産業, 'Gansai Sangyō') is a Japanese multinational conglomerate and megacorporation renowned for their pioneering technological advancements in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics technology and their high-quality products in a vast array of industries, notably heavy machinery, military equipment, electronics, vehicles and their components, and consumer appliances.
Founded in 2048 in response to the unprecedented rise of the AXIOM Corporation, Gansai Industries is the product of a merger between Hitachi, Komatsu, and Howa, with the ambitious intent of consolidating their resources and expertise in order to compete in the global market and especially to challenge AXIOM's increasingly strong position in the technological sector.
It wasn't long until the conglomerate established itself as one of the most important players on the domestic Japanese market, becoming the most important supplier of military equipment to the Self Defence Forces, an electronic giant, and a global mega supplier for automotive manufacturers.
Over the years, Gansai strengthened itself through the acquisition of failing companies, purchases of assets, and generally expanding their operations across more fields in Japan and later abroad, with their first international branches being set up in Taiwan and Korea.
Products and Services
Mirai Project
in 2063, after a decade of development, they would make their greatest work yet—the world's first Class III artificial intelligence system, 'Mirai,' which excelled in replicating human speech patterns, simulating a personality, and solving highly complex problems; it was deemed so convincing that it successfully passed the Turing Test.
The technological limitations of artificial intelligence prevented Mirai from ever developing a unique personality or showing any true emotion, and the governments of Japan and the United States were not willing to invest any further in the development of emotional imitation and instead urged Gansai Industries to simply focus on the problem-solving aspect of artificial intelligence.
Mirai paved the way for greater developments in AI, often even contributing a vast amount of research herself. Even long after her decommissioning in 2112, Mirai remains a legendary name in the robotics industry.
Prosthetics
Gansai additionally manufactures high-end prosthetics that link with the human brain using Man-Machine Interface (MMI), technology, allowing for unparalleled dexterity, sense of touch, and even programmable pain levels.
